POKEMON
THE ADVENTURES OF ASH, MISTY, AND BROCK
  In our last chapter, Misty and Brock where put in jail in Celedon for their
incident in Cinnabar.  Ash found them and paid the bond to let them go.  Ash
and Misty ran around the town, seeing the sites and enjoying the shops.  On
the other hand, Brock wanted to fight the local gym leader, Erika.  And he’s
entered the match right now.
  “Vulplix, use fire spin!”
  “Exeggcute, Nooooo!  Return!   Go Gloom!”
  “All right, Vulplix return.  Go Sandslash!”
  “Use stun powder!”
  “Sandslash, dig under the ground!”
  “Gloom, take this plant potion!”
  “Sandslash, above ground and do spin tackle!”
  “No!  Not again!”
  “Ha, I won!  The badge is mine!  Yes!  Whoa, I better calm down.  I’m
starting to sound like Ash.”  Erika gave Brock the Marsh badge and
congratulated him. 
  “Wow, that was a hard match.  You trained your Pokemon really well. 
What kind of food do you feed your pokemon?”
  Brock’s eyes lit up because this was his favorite subject.  “Oh, so you want
to know what kind of food I feed my pokemon?  O.k., but you got to keep
some of my recipes a secret.  Somehow I feel like I can trust you.  Take a
look.”  He opened his pack and showed her the different bottles of pokefood
that he was carrying.  He even told her the recipe to his plant pokemon food.
  “Don’t worry.  I won’t tell anyone.  I won’t be around to many people in the
next few weeks.”
  “What do you mean?”  Brock was starting to think that she was a criminal,  
too, and that she was going into hiding for a few weeks.  He wished that he
thought of that. 
  “Well I just finished this plant potion that I also used in the battle we just
had.  It increases any plant pokemon’s ability.  Their attack, defense, speed,
and accuracy all increase, For a limited time, though.”
  “Of course.  I would expect that from any potion.  No enhancement can last
forever.  But I still don’t know why you’re leaving.  Hey you know what, my
friends and I are heading to Pokemon League.  Are you going any where over
there? ”
  By now they had walked to the exit of the gym, and Brock was about to
leave.  “Oh, well, I’m kind of inventing a potion enhancement that would last
for at least more than one battle.  Maybe even a day or more.  Funny you
should bring up that subject.”  Erika made a little laugh that made Brock think
something was up, but he couldn’t put his finger on it.  “And as for Pokemon
League,  I am traveling that way.  You know, I don’t have any one to travel
there with.”
  “Oh well.  Maybe we’ll see you there.  Thanks for the badge and see you
later!”  Brock walked out of the gym and Erika slapped her forehead
saying,“That was the most clueless boy I have ever met!”
 
  Meanwhile, Ash and Misty had a great time shopping together and Ash even
bought Misty an Clafairy doll that said “clafairy” when you squeezed it.
They had been shopping the whole day and had headed back to the hotel to
wait for Brock.  When he arrived, they bugged him to tell them about his
journey to an all girl training gym.  Ash sat on the edge of a bed, Misty was in
a chair across the room, and Brock was just standing there.  He said that it
was the same as most gyms, but that the girls acted a little weird around him.
  “And you didn’t see that Erika was trying to find a way to follow you
because she likes you?  How stupid could you be?  Come on!  Seriously, you
two boys simply have no sense of romance!  Especially you, Ash!”
  “What do you mean?  I bought you that Clefaiy your holding right now,
didn’t I?”
  “Well I guess that’s a little romantic.”
  “Ash, are your telling me that you meant that doll to be more than a
friendship gift?  Wha ha ha ha!”  Brock fell on the floor laughing his head off.
Misty threw a pillow at him and said,“You stay out of our business and I
won’t keep on reminding you how stupid you were to turn down Erika!”
  Brock stopped laughing and said that he would go to the gym first thing in
the morning and ask her to come with them, even if he wasn’t interested in
her. 
  “Hey, Ash, maybe Erika could be your girlfriend!”  Ash couldn’t help but
chuckle a bit at the picture of himself buying things for a girl and worshipping
the ground she walked on.
  Misty got up and walked over to Ash saying,“No way, Brock!  He’s already
taken!”  All the laughter stopped and everyone stared at Misty, who was
leaning on Ash’s shoulder.
  “All right.  Misty, your starting to scare me.”  Brock slowly backed out of
the room out into the hall to his room.  Ash couldn’t stop staring at Misty,
who was giving Brock a nasty look all the way out the door.  After Brock left,
Misty got up and headed for the door.
  “I hope you know that I only did that to get Brock out of our hair.  Anyway,
don’t take it personal, but I wouldn’t exactly choose you as a boyfriend.”
She left the room to hers and Ash was confused the rest of the night.
  What the hey is going on?  Will Brock’s idea work out as planned, and
Erika will come with them to Pokemon League?  How much truth was in
what Misty said to Ash?  And how long will the batteries in the Clafairy doll
