POKEMON
THE ADVENTURES OF ASH, MISTY, BROCK AND ERIKA
In the last chapter of Pokemon, Ash, Misty, and Erika battled Giovanni and he was defeated.  Towards the end of the battle, Giovanni had defeated Misty and Erika that left Ash to battle by himself.  Ash battled hard with determination and put Giovanni to rest.  The police came and brought Giovanni to jail so that he could never do evil again.   So where do our heroes go from here?
Ash, Misty, and Erika went to see Brock at the hospital, and soon, after an electrical shock from Pikachu, he was better to leave.  The first place that they wanted to go was the gym back at Saffron.  They had met a trainer from there on their trip to Silph Co. and the wanted to see her again.  They made their way to the gym and were in awe of it’s impressive front.  They knocked the door and a psychic pokemon trainer attended to them.  They were brought to a nicly furnished waiting room where the girl they wanted to see would arrive shortly.  In the room there were other trainers.  All trainers had their own pokemon out and even a couple of them were battling.
Misty got up and decided to give it a go in the battle area.  Ash, Brock, and Erika followed her to watch and cheer.  She looked around for a suitable opponent and saw a large line with two fighters in front.  The two fighters were a boy and girl.  She waited in line and eventually the line diminished so it was her turn next.  The boy in front of her was next to battle the girl which was the one who had battled and defeated all the challengers in line.  She was a spunky looking, red-haired, pig-tailed, freckled face, girl.
“Hmm,” thought Misty, “I should study my opponent before I just jump in unprepared.  First, what kind of pokemon type is she using?  I might have to borrow some of Erika or Brock’s pokemon.  I don’t want to borrow a pokemon from Ash, though.  Well, I think she’s using ghost.  Is it?  Yea, I’m pretty sure.  That’s a Haunter.  O.k.  What works good against ghost?  Come on, Misty.  You didn’t go to Pokemon Central for nothing.  Can’t I remember anything I learned at school about ghosts?  I’ve never really fought them so I thought I didn’t need to know about them.         Hmm...
Oh! I know!  How about psychic!  That’s what I remember from school.  But will it work in real life?”
The poor kid was wiped out and the girl motioned for the next victim.  Misty immediately had no choice but to ask Ash to borrow his Abra, which was in Bill’s PC.
“I don’t know, Misty.  Why should I lend you one of my pokemon?  I mean your not exactly my best friend and all.”
“Ash, you lend me your Abra for this battle and I’ll become your best friend!”  Ash thought this was a good idea, and so he ran to Bill’s PC and took out his Abra to lend to Misty.  “Take good care of him, Misty.  It took me forever to catch him.  He kept teleporting away from me.  He’s a big accomplishment for me.”
“O.k., o.k., just let me finish this in one piece.  Sheesh!  You think the guy just lend me his liver or something!  Anyway, back to the present.”  Misty turned to the trainer to greet her.  “Hi, my name is Misty.  What’s yours?”
“Hi, my name is Pepper, or Peppy for short.  I’ll be your opponent for today.  I hope you brought some good pokemon because all that these people have been throwing at me have been Abras or Gastlys.  It’s frankly no contest.  My Haunter can take any psychic on with ease and any other Haunter is just a joke.  My Haunter knows a lot more moves than what he learns.  I taught him the moves through technical machines, or TM’s for short.  Well, well, then let’s get back to the subject at hand.  Pokemon Go!”  Pepper sent out her Haunter.
“All right.  Then I had better not send out Abra after all.  Let’s see, then Starmie, I choose you!”  Misty released Starmie.  Pepper began her attack by having Haunter do hypnosis.  Starmie fell asleep instantly.  Haunter then used confuse ray.  Starmie was struggling to wake up.  Haunter finished it’s attack by doing dream eater.  Starmie’s dream was eaten!  Starmie also lost all it’s energy.  Misty withdrew Starmie and sent out, with a sigh, Abra.
“You too?  Wow, this gym is Abra crazy!  Oh well.  See you later Abra.”  Pepper then instructed Haunter to use nightshade which took out Abra in one move.  Haunter’s ghost powers where no match for Abra’s psychic defense.  Misty thought it was all over.  But wait!  Doesn’t Misty have another psychic pokemon?  Yes, and Ash remembers it, too.  “Hey, Misty, send out Pysduck!  Yea, yea!  Send out Pysduck!”
“Would you put a sock in it!?!”  Misty pulled Ash off to the side and explained the dilemma to him.  “I can’t let her know I have Pysduck!  If Peppy finds out, she’ll want to fight him!  I’ll lose so bad that I won’t know what to do!”
“But Misty, you can’t get any worse after that Starmie battle.  I mean you didn’t even get a hit in!  I’m amazed your not dead with embarrassment right now.”
“I am embarrassed, and if you don’t keep quiet, I’ll have to strangle you!  You know as well as I do that Psyduck won’t have a chance against Haunter.  I just don’t think it’s worth the effort to see if I’m right of not.”
“I think you should at least try.  She might let you win.  I mean that Pepper girl looks pretty nice to me.  The red hair, freckles, slim body, and...”
“Nice?  What kind of nice, Ash?  Hmm?  I think you had better rethink your definition of “nice”.  You do know who your talking to, right?  I am a girl.  You haven’t gone totally insane on me, have you?”
“Your right, I shouldn’t be talking to you about these issues.”  Misty nodded.  She was a girl after all.  She didn’t want to hear Ash babbling about other girls anyway.  “I should go talk to Brock!”
“Ash!?!  I’m going to get you for this, big time!  Well I guess your right and I should see if Psyduck can take Haunter or not.  Well here goes.”  Misty then turned back around to talk to Pepper.
“Welcome back to the battle.  Shall we proceed?  Or are you all out of pokemon?”
“Oh, no.  I got my next pokemon right here.  O.k.  Here goes.  Psyduck, do your best!”  Psyduck came out and stood holding his head.
“Psy, psy, psy!”  Psyduck’s headache got worse.  Haunter was ready to fight!
“Haunter, glare!”  Haunter quickly used glare.  Psyduck was paralyzed!
“Now hypnosis.”  Haunter tried hypnosis.  He missed!  Psyduck was cured from paralysis.
“Psyduck, tail whip!”  He used tail whip.  Woosh!  Haunter’s defense lowered.
“Let’s try to put Psyduck asleep again.”  Haunter tried hypnosis.
“Psyduck, quick, use mirror move!  Reflect the attack back at Haunter!”  Psyduck used mirror move!  Hypnosis was done to Haunter.  Haunter fell asleep!
“Psyduck, let’s bring out the heavy artillery!”  Psyduck used psychic.  Haunter’s health dropped dramatically!  “Ha, with one more attack, your a goner!”  Everyone was cheering for Misty because Pepper had beaten them.
“Fine, I admit you’re a skilled fighter.  So I must show you my full potential.  I did not think anyone at this gym would be ready for this, but you are a challenge worth defeating.  So now see as I crush you to a total pulp!”
“What are you talking about?  Haunter’s asleep and almost out of energy!”
“Haunter, evolve!  Show them your true form!”  At that moment, the room became dark and Haunter started to glow.  A purple mist arose from the ground and started to shroud Haunter in a dark haze.  Haunter awoke and covered his face with his hands.  He then began to become bigger, and started to grow limbs.  His arms connected to his body and became smaller.  Stubs appeared on the lower portion of his body and became legs.  He then put his hands to his side and revealed his face.  He had a sinister look and was ready to fight Psyduck to the end.
Misty turned around to face the others and saw Ash and Erika talking to another girl. The girl was tall and pretty, with blue hair.  Misty called Erika over, partly to get her away from Ash because she was standing awfully close to him, and asked her who that girl was.
“Oh, that’s the girl that we came here to meet.  She’s been watching you battle and would like to talk to you.”
“Oh really?  O.k. get her over here.”  Erika walked over to the girl and Ash and told them that Misty could talk.  The girl came over and said hi to Misty.
“Misty, this is Alice.  She’s the girl we met at Silph Co.  She really thinks you got something going with your pokemon skills.”
“Yes, I think you might even have a special gift for training pokemon.”
“A gift, you say?”  Brock was very interested in the matter.  “Do you mean anything like a prodigy or something?”
“Well yes, actually.  She overwhelmed the Haunter very well with only such a pokemon as Psyduck.  You see, Psyduck doesn’t exactly defeat every challenger he faces.  Just being able to use him to defeat one other opponent is quite an accomplishment.  And prodigies don’t exactly come around all that often, either.  The last prodigy around lately has been Lance.  The current leader of the Elite Four.  A master trainer of dragon type pokemon.  The books, if you recall from your history classes, tell of one ultimate trainer after another.  Every one more powerful then the last.  They come and defeat all the trainers of the world.  The next prodigy in line shall be a trainer of all types.  There is much more to the legend, but I’ll tell you later because, Misty, you have a battle to finish.”
“Wait!  Your telling me that Misty could be the prodigy that is destined to take on the Elite Four?  No, no!  She may be good, but not that good!”
“That’s enough, Ash!  Your just jealous!  So what if I am the best?  You and Pikachu will just have to pack and give me the title!  Ha, ha, ha, ha!”
What the hey is going on?!?  Could it be that Misty, not Ash, is really the next prodigy destined to defeat the Elite Four?  But didn’t the legend say of a trainer of all types?  Sounds like Ash.  But if it truly is Misty, then that means some pokemon changes for Misty.  No more “water only” pokemon for Misty.  And can Misty truly defeat the newly formed ghost pokemon?  Find out in the next super chapter of Pokemon!
