POKEMON THE ADVENTURES OF ASH, MISTY, BROCK AND ERIKA   In the last chapter of Pokemon, Ash, Brock, Misty, and Erika busted into the Team Rocket headquarters and tried to put the boot on their evil plans.  What happened?  They mopped the floor with all the Rocket members and finally made it to the Boss.  Brock was shot in the shoulder and the only officer that came with them was shot in the chest three times, so with only three of them left,  they must fight the Boss with only their pokemon.   “Come on.  Give me your best shot.  Ha, ha, ha, ha!”  Giovanni then ran back into the room behind him and turned on a lamp that revealed his sinister office.  Written out plans strewed the walls, obviously plans that failed. It was also much bigger then a normal business office.  About two thirds of the room had been cleared away to fit in a pokemon battle arena.  He took two steps back and said, “This is my personal arena.  I hope it meets your high standards.  We can battle here.”   “Don’t make it cute, Giovanni.  We’re gonna whip you good!”  Misty was getting restless, but she saw that this was Ash’s place to fight.   “So, Giovanni, you tuned to evil after I beat you at the Viridian gym for the earth badge?  Taking you out again will be my pleasure!  Pigeotto, go!”   “Kabutops, attack!”   “Pigeotto, whirl wind!  Blow him out of the building!”   “Child’s play!  Kabutops, harden!  The chickens wind won’t even budge you!”   “Ah!  Pigeotto, drill peck!”   “Harden once more, Kabutops!”  Kaputop’s hard shell cracked Pigeotto’s beak and Pigeotto fainted.   “Ha!  For my victory I’ll tell you a secret.  I was the Team Rocket leader long before you were born!  I’ve been into crime for years!”   “Ah!  Pigeotto, return!  Go, Bulbasaur!”   “What?!  Your sending out a first stage little pip-squeak?  Ha, this will be easier than I thought!”   “Bulba!”   “Yea Bulbasaur!  Use your anger to beat Kabutops!  Solar beam now!”   “Bulba, bulba, bulba, bulba...”  Bulbasaur took in sunlight.   “Oh yea?  Kabutops, use slash!”  Bulbasaur dodged and continued his solar attack.   “Bulba, bulba, bulba, bulba..... Bulbasaur!”  Bulbasaur used solarbeam and blew a hole right through Kabutops!   “Whoa!  That’s incredible!  I got to steal your Bulbasaur!  That is after I defeat you!  Time for the heavy artillery!  Go Rydon!”   “Oh no, I’ve never fought a Rydon before.  Last time you only had a Ryhorn.  I’ll take it out all the same with Bulbasaur!”   “All right, then suffer!  Rydon, use horn attack!”  The horns nearly hit Bulbasaur head on and it was apparent that he would not be able to take another hit.   “That’s it, Ash.  We’re coming in!”  Erika and Misty then immediately sent out their pokemon, too.     Erika had borrowed Brock’s Golem for this battle.  Since his Golem was so powerful, Brock told her to take it before she went in after Giovanni.   “Golem, go!”   “Starmie, assume battle mode!  Sounded cool, huh?”    “Cheaters!  Kabutops, return.”   “Your not running away this time!  We’re going to finish you off!”  Misty’s anger overtook her and she yelled, “Starmie, block the door!”   “Ha, ha, little children.  I’m not going anywhere.  You still don’t know the true extent of my power!  Feel the wrath of Nidoking!!!”  Ash had already fought a Nidoking before, but he wasn’t worried.  In fact it was Giovanni’s Nidoking he had fought, and defeated.  Ash pulled out his pokedex and checked out the stats of Nidoking.    “Whoa, Nidoking’s stats are way up!  What could his level possibly be?”   “I  guess you’ll never live to find out.  Ha, ha, ha!  Now die you three nuisances!  Nidoking, attack!   Fire Blast!”    “Bulbasaur, return.  Go, Pikachu!”   “Pika!”  Pikachu leaped forward from Ash’s side and positioned himself for battle.  Nidoking sprayed a wall of flames and immediately wiped out half of the energy from Pikachu and Starmie.  Still, Golem withstood the blast.   He suddenly retaliated with a powerful rock throw attack.  Nidoking reflected them with one swift stroke of his hand.  Nidoking lunged forward and gave Golem a devastating horn drill attack.  Nidoking drove his horn all the way to the center of Golem’s rocky core and pulled it out leaving Golem standing in place.  Golem fell to it’s knees and exploded into a million pieces of rock.    “Oh, gosh, no!  Golem!  He’s the strongest one I got!  Nidoking just challenged him like a toy!  Watch out guys, because my grass pokemon can’t stand up to this kind of power!”   “All right, then Erika’s out.  So now it’s up to me to teach you how to treat a lady.  Starmie, let’s give him a run for his money!  Spin tackle attack, now!” Starmie flew forward at a slow yet powerful pace.  Then Starmie turned around Nidoking and spun towards it’s back.  Nidoking saw this and swatted his tail at Starmie to reflect the attack, but when Nidoking’s tail met Starmie’s attack, Nidokings tail was severed off.  Nidoking roared in pain as Starmie then flew to the other side of the arena and turned around for another attack. Nidoking slightly turned to the returning avenger and growled out front.  He then unleashed a power that was unknown to them all.  Nidoking swiftly raised his hand in to the air and brought it just as quickly down.  Just then, the floor began to shake and icicles formed on the ceiling.  The icicles all started to fall down towards Starmie, but Starmie desperately tried to avoid the attack.  All though Starmie was agile, it could not out run the icicles, and was struck down to crash on the floor.  Icicle after icicle rammed Starmie until Starmie began to break up.  Starmie’ left limb broke of and Misty quickly ran forward, aware that she may be hit by a icicle, too, to recover her dying Starmie.  She picked up Starmie and ran back to the others crying of the loss of her Starmie.  With the battle raging on, she could not, would not, leave Ash alone with Giovanni to take her Starmie to the Pokecenter.   “No, go Misty.  Get your Starmie help.  I can take him on.  Erika, go with her, and on your way out get Brock to the hospital, too.”  Misty, with tears in her eyes, first looked at Ash, and then at Giovanni.  Would he let her go?   “I know what your thinking, kid.  Get out of here, you shrimp.  The one behind my problems is right here.”  He gave an evil glance at Ash and smiled. With her question answered, Misty left the room with Erika close behind.    Ash was left alone standing in the room with the crazed pokemon maniac and his Nidoking.  “All right.  You caused enough hurt, pain, death, and destruction for one lifetime, Giovanni.  I’m taken you out.     Pikachu, attack!”   “Nidoking, now this is the battle we’ve been waiting for.  No other Rocket member of my entire force could beat this kid.  Let’s find out if he really is the prodigy, or if my whole force were just wimps!  Nidoking, horn drill!” Pikachu flew up to Nidoking while he thrashed his head forward to meet Pikachu’s attack, which would hit Pikachu straight on, but at the last instant Pikachu veered to the left and used agility.  With the extra boost Pikachu swirled around Nidoking and faced the back of his head straight on.  His cheeks began to glow an unusual color.  Bright white instead of electric yellow, and he waited for Nidoking to turn around.  When he did, Pikachu released his attack into Nidoking’s face.  All the electric energy pounded into his forehead until Nidoking started to turn black from the head down.  When Nidoking’s body was entirely black, it began to burn and explode.  In a matter of seconds, Nidoking was no more.  Nothing was left of him.  Only a pile of ash on the floor.   “No, no, no!  That was to easy for you!  My Nidoking was much stronger then that!  What level is your Pikachu?!”   “I don’t know.  But I can tell you that he’s powerful enough to put you away.  I hope you rot in your jail cell!”  Then police officers started to rush down the stairs as Ash called up that Giovanni was defeated.   “You are the prodigy...”   All the mysteries have been solved.  All the foes have been vanquished.  But still one question remains.  Giovanni had mentioned something about a prodigy.  Could Ash truly be a prodigy?  If so, the prodigy of what?  Keep on reading because the answer to this question is found in the next chapter of Pokemon.
