POKEMON THE ADVENTURES OF ASH, MISTY, AND BROCK   In the last chapter of Pokemon,  Brock had defeated the Celedon gym leader, Erika. After Erika tried to hitch a ride on the three friend’s travel wagon, Brock turned her down by complete stupidity.  He told his friends and they convinced him to get her to come along.  Also, Misty was starting to act pretty nice around Ash, and even Pikachu noticed this rare occasion.  What is it that Misty’s sees that Ash doesn’t?   Early the next morning, Brock got up and went to Misty’s door, knocking and saying,“Misty!  Wake up.  I need your help.  You were right.  I don’t know a thing about girls.  Come with me to invite Erika to come with us.”   Misty got up and agreed to follow him there.  She was planning herself to go there later in the day to earn a badge and have a chat with some female friends, for a change.  They got changed and left for the gym without waking Ash, thinking he’d only get in the way.   When they arrived in front of the gym, Misty saw all the other girls having a good time talking to one another and exchanging gossip inside the huge glass dome that the gym was shaped.   “I wish that was me in there.”   “Yea, me too.  Look at all the girls in there!”  Misty smacked Brock with her backpack and reminded him they were only here to get Erika and a badge.  They walked in and eventually found Erika sitting with some other girls gossiping and sipping tea.   “Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.  Your so funny, Erika.”   “Yes.  I always go for what I want!  And speaking of what I want....Girls look here! This is the handsome man that I told you beat me in a match yesterday.”  Brock was seeming to turn red as Erika pulled up a chair for him and invited him to come and join them.  Misty, being totally ignored, got a chair herself and sat next to Brock.  She elbowed Brock to introduce her and Brock finally got the clue.   “Oh yea.  This is my friend Misty.  She and another friend are accompanying me to Pokemon League.”  Her and Ash accompanying him to Pokemom League?  This was getting to far and she new if he didn’t ask that she would.  She really wanted another girl to come with them so that she had someone to actually talk to.   “Oh, hi.  What’s your name?”   “It’s Misty.  Also me and Brock were thinking that if you would like to come with us to Pokemon League.  We could always use a new face.”  Misty could see that she had it in the bag if only Brock would snap out of his trance and ask, too.  She again elbowed Brock.   “Oh yea.  What she said...”   “Oh all right.  As you all know, I’m leaving the gym for a few months to go to Indigo Plateau and participate in the Pokemon League championships.  I will be leaving Amy in charge of the gym until I get back, and she will report anything that wouldn’t go on in this gym if I were here.  I have also decided to be traveling with these two people on my way there.”     “Bye, bye Erika!  Bye!”  They sounds of the students at gym were cheerful, so you knew that they were planning something behind Erika’s back.  Maybe a party, or even a plant revolution.  It didn’t matter, though.  To Misty, hardly anything mattered anymore.  She had lost to Erika during their match.  As they reached Ash’s hotel room, they discovered that Ash had left and went to eat at the hotel’s cafeteria.  When they arrived, they found Ash and Pikachu still eating for what had been almost an hour.    “Ash, your such a pig!”  But then Misty caught eye on what he was munching on.  There were eclairs and strawberries.  Steaks and potatoes.  Pudding and ice-cream.  All wonderful foods.  Misty and Brock were soon eating the food, too.    Erika had eaten earlier and was not hungry.  She got a chair and pulled it up next to Ash. Ash cleaned his face and turned to Erika to say hi.  Just then Erika got a look into Ash’s face and immediately forgot Brock.   “Hi.  My name’s Ash Ketchum.  I’m from Pallet Town.  You’ve met Brock, right?”   “Brock?  Whose Brock?”  Erika couldn’t stop staring at Ash and even missed her mouth when she tried to get a drink of water, spilling  it everywhere.    “Whoa!  I’m sorry, Ash is it?  That’s a great name.  Mine’s Erika.”   “Yea.  I already know.”  Ash was just about more clueless then Brock had ever been.  He totally didn’t see Erika’s interest in him, but Misty picked it up right away and prepared to keep Ash as far away from Erika as she could.  She really didn’t like Ash much, but there was something inside her nagging to keep close friends to Ash.  She would keep Erika away until she lost interest in Ash.  It might even have to require getting to be really close friends with Ash.  That was something she was afraid of.  Ash didn’t seem like an ideal boyfriend, after all.  Later that day, they all packed up and left town for Saffron.   So with Erika in the group, they’ll have better chance of making it back to Viridian city. But still, will Misty’s plan work?  Will Ash find out about Erika’s feelings for him before Misty can foil them?  And when will Brock find out that Erika dumped him, well sort of?
